Getting a board to engage in fundraising for a non-profit organization seems to be a perennial challenge. Fundraising leaders are looking to find answers to their challenges and how to engage their board members more effectively in the fundraising process. This session will allow attendees to ask their most important fundraising questions from some of the best minds in the business. Senior Associate Roger D. Ali appointed President Elect of AFP Global for 2023-2024

Roger D. Ali, MBA, C.Dir, CFRE, Senior Associate and an accomplished executive with 20+ years nonprofit management experience delivering high-impact results through strategy development, relationship building and philanthropy, is the new President Elect of AFP (Association of Fundraising Professionals) Global. Founded in 1960, AFP advances philanthropy through its 27,000 members in more than 240 chapters throughout the world. AFP has inspired global change and supported efforts that have generated over $1 trillion. AFP’s individual and organizational members raise over $115 billion annually.

He is the Past Chair of the AFP Foundation for Philanthropy Canada; past President of the AFP Golden Horseshoe Chapter, where he was awarded the Recipient of Outstanding Leadership Award in 2017, and past Board Member of the AFP Toronto Chapter. Penelope Cagney’s ‘Seven Trends to Watch’ featured in new publication: ‘The Fundraising Reader’ by Beth Breeze 

Excerpts from the book that Penelope co-authored with Bernard Ross, ‘Global Fundraising’, have been chosen for inclusion in a new publication called ‘The Fundraising Reader’,  by Routledge, Spring 2023. Co-editors are Beth Breeze, Director of the Global Challenges Doctoral Centre Director of the Centre for Philanthropy and Reader in Social Policy at the University of Kent, Pamala Wiepking at the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy in the US, and Donna Day Lafferty, University of Chichester. Penelope’s contribution is   ‘Seven Trends to Watch’ and is located in section 6: ‘Trends and Debates about Making Fundraising Better.’ You can purchase the book here.
