
Chris Sar, Vice President
for the Southwest Region of the USA
Chris Sar, CFRE, MA, Vice President for the Southwest Region, has been with the Company since 2018 and his work with The Cagney Company includes The Japanese Friendship Garden, the YMCA, and Ballet Arizona. He has primary responsibility for Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, Nevada and Colorado. He is the Founder of Cascalote Philanthropic Consulting, with over 25 years of experience in all areas of fundraising including: planned giving, prospect research, constituent management, data screening and analysis, grant writing, annual giving, major gifts and capital campaigns. Chris was Director of Planned Giving at Phoenix Children’s Hospital Foundation for four years, having also served as Director of Prospect Management and Annual Giving and Research Director with the Hospital for over 10 years.
A fifth generation Arizonan, Chris also holds a bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University in intercultural communication and political science, as well as a master’s degree from Thunderbird School of Global Management. Chris is past Chapter President of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Global–Greater Arizona Chapter, and has been active with the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP), APRA–the Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement (past Arizona Chapter President), Planned Giving Roundtable of Arizona, and the Woodmark Group of children’s hospitals. In addition, Chris has written articles and presented at local and national conferences on topics including planned gift recording and management, prospect research methodology, the future of grateful patient fundraising programs and fundraising ethics.
When Chris is not spending time with his wife, three children, four rescue dogs and a cat, he is also active with many community groups.
