
D.C. Dreger, ACFRE, MA, Senior Associate
D.C. Dreger, ACFRE, MA, Senior Associate, is a seasoned development leader dedicated to promoting international collaboration. D.C.’s specialties include capacity building, major gifts and international philanthropy. Serving with Habitat for Humanity International, he provided fundraising and management counsel to 20 United States affiliates and 10 countries in Latin America/Caribbean in growing local fundraising capacity to develop diverse revenue streams, including annual fund, capital campaign, micro-finance and legacy initiatives. The campaign exceeded its five-year goal at more than $4 billion.
Working with social, human service and religious agencies to raise leadership and major gifts, D.C. develops strong relationships with board and donors, implementing comprehensive strategic and marketing plans and growing influence in the community. The focus is on influencing within and without the organization, leading board members and staff toward success by implementing best practices and managing a challenging yet achievable fundraising plan. He has directed planning studies and capital campaigns for churches, YMCA, Habitat for Humanity, Salvation Army and others.
D.C. is a former member of the boards of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Global and AFP’s Foundation for Philanthropy. He serves on AFP’s International Development Committee and Content Advisory Committee, and is Past President of the AFP Southeastern Tennessee Chapter. He holds the Advanced Fundraising Executive Certification (ACFRE), is a AFP Master Teacher, a graduate of AFP’s Management and Leadership institutes and holds a Master’s Degree in Nonprofit Organizational Leadership. Dreger was born on the Atlantic Coast of Nicaragua and lived there during his youth.
